Kingdom of Heaven (2005)

One of the most expensive movies ever made, the plot revolves around the abduction of Sparta’s queen Helen, which resulted in “Trojan War” on the besieged city of Troy. When Troy’s Prince Paris (Orlando Bloom) abducted Helen (Diane Kruger) after having an affair with her, King Agamemnon and his Greek army ravaged the city of Troy for revenge. With a spectacular cast comprising of actors like Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom and Eric Bana, Troy is a commercial success due to its terrific actions and battle scenes! 

Centurion (2010)

When the 9th Legion and their General (Dominic West) travel through a Scottish jungle guided by an attractive Pict tracker (Olga Kurylenko), they soon find themselves in the middle of an attack which leaves most of the Legion dead. Betrayed by the tracker and ambushed by the group of Picts, the remaining soldiers desperately find their way towards safety. The dialogues of Centurion is not that great but it is compensated by the stylish fighting sequences and a talented cast of Dominic West and Michael Fassbender.

300 (2006)

300 tells the story of the Battle of Thermopylae between Spartans and Persians. Led the able leader Leonidas (Gerard Butler), the Spartans are terribly outnumbered at the hands of the huge Persian army led by King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro). Based on the comic by Frank Miller, 300 is visually stunning!

The Last Samurai (2003)

With Tom Cruise in the lead role of an American military officer Nathan Algren, The Last Samurai tells the story of a 19th century Japan, where Nathan is asked to train the Japanese in the modern warfare. With the hopes of eradicating Samurais, Nathan soon finds himself becoming fond of the Samurai culture. Loosely based on true stories, this movie was a commercial success and won many awards.
